See something that looks a bit dodgy?

We sometimes get members contacting NRC regarding activity they see by other operators that appears to be non-compliant or unsafe.

For NRC there are limits to what we can do especially if the other party is not a member. However, Government agencies such as NZTA, Immigration New Zealand and the Police have reporting processes you should know about.

It is always helpful to have some specifics such as vehicle registrations, dates/times, locations, and driver details. It also helps if you are willing to answer further questions from the relevant authority so enforcement action can be taken.

If you would like to take direct action here are some useful links:

For compliance relating to Transport Service licences or RUC there is an online process on the NZTA website under ‘Contact’ at the bottom of the landing page, ‘Complaints’ and any of the links to the Commercial operator complaint form.  The form has questions that are helpful when NZTA needs to investigate similar reports.

For issues relating to Immigration or labour exploitation call 0508 558 855 or fill out this online form  Report a breach form | Immigration New Zealand or email: inz.complianceinvestigations@mbie.govt.nz

Finally if you see something that puts people in immediate danger always contact Police via 111.
