Hydrogen awards for road transport innovators
Three transport sector leaders were recognised at the recent Aotearoa Hydrogen Awards, celebrating progress in zero-emission technology and the people driving it forward.
TR Group took home the Hydrogen Transport Award, recognised for leading from the front in low- and zero-emissions heavy vehicles. With 20 hydrogen trucks on the road and more to come, they’re showing what it takes to decarbonise heavy freight.
GBV (Global Bus Ventures) won the Innovation Excellence Award for designing and engineering the first hydrogen fuel cell truck ever built in New Zealand and developing world-first hydrogen chase boats for the America’s Cup.
HW Richardson Group’s HWR Hydrogen received the Our People Award for its hands-on approach to workforce development. Through in-person training and a culture of collaboration, HWR is helping ensure drivers, mechanics and engineers are ready to support the hydrogen transition.
Well done to all three winners for paving the way in hydrogen-powered transport.
