Container Terminal Update
Terminal vessel schedules and volumes continue to remain variable.
Please continue to monitor our website for any schedule changes and we appreciate all efforts to ensure cargo delivery and collection are managed within the designated receival and free-time periods.
Multi-Cargo (MC) Operations
Currently operating well. The truck grid has been flowing well, at present we are achieving good truck turn times.
28.54% of this week’s gate transactions have been processed through our kiosks. We encourage transporters to use kiosks where possible.
Please work with the shipping lines on forward vessel receival dates and availability of Sunday R&D.
We would like to remind all transporters delivering breakbulk cargo to MC of the breakbulk access fee which came in to effect on the 6th of October – please use this link Book Breakbulk Truck Visit to add truck details for breakbulk deliveries
eGate is live at Fergusson Terminal
We have successfully trialled eGate at select Fergusson gates, including the Empty Yard Gate and Fergusson Main Gate. From Wednesday, 1 October 2025, eGate went live across all Fergusson Main Gates for all carriers. We are encouraging all Transport companies to ensure their teams have been onboarded and commence using eGate within the Fergusson terminal at both the Empty Yard Gate and Fergusson Main Gate. eGate will become compulsory from March 2026, now is a great time to begin onboarding your team. Starting early will ensure a smooth transition and avoid any pressure as we move closer to the cut-off date.
How eGate works:
eGate allows drivers to use an app on their phones which tracks their arrival through pre-defined geo-fences, providing real-time visibility to the road office. Drivers will see either green or red on their device:
- GREEN: All information is correct, the driver is on time for their slot, or the terminal can accommodate the truck’s arrival. Proceed to the gate.
- RED: There is an issue. Drivers must park in the truck park, resolve any issues, or wait for their booked time slot.
- All resources including an onboarding video tutorial, dispatch & driver user guides can be found on POAL website here
Safety Reminder:
To ensure your safety and visibility in operational areas, all clothing must meet the following standards:
